My goodness! May flew right by me - and here it June already!
If you are looking for some fiber festivals to put on your calendar, please save the date for:
The Salida Fiber Festival, September 6th and 7th, 2014.
and the Heart of New Mexico Festival, in ABQ, September 27th and 28th, 2014.
I've been accepted into both and am hoping also to attending the Kid N Ewe Festival in Boerne, Texas, in early November 2014.
In other shop news, I'm introducing a brand-new yarn, Laysa Sock. This is a gorgeous 60% SW merino wool, 20% silk and 20% yak blend fingering-weight yarn. The base of this yarn is a natural (i.e. grayish-brown) color, so all the colorways that are dyed on it will be very saturated and rich. Just a couple of colorways in the shop right now, with more to come this month as I get them dyed, photographed and posted.
Finally, mid-June will see another installment of the Handspinner's Club listed for purchase. This will be for the months of July, August and September - and will again include one basic wool, one custom blend, and one wool/luxury fiber blend. Colorways are all themed around somewhere to travel to - either in real life, or in the pages of books. This is a great way to replenish your fiber stash after spinning during the Tour de Fleece in July!
